WHAT DO GEMSTONES AND WINE HAVE IN COMMON?

They are all expressive of “terroir” - of the earth! Similar to the way that elements in the earth determine the way a wine tastes, the same is true for what makes a gemstone look the way it does.

The tasting series is designed to be an engaging, accessible conversation to understand “value” and learn questions to ask when buying both gemstones and wine.

THE BLIND TASTING EXPERIENCE

A Wine Expert and Trinhaitia Bijoux present three blind pairings (wine and gemstone of the same varietal) and pose the question: “Which pairing is the most valuable?”

Guests will be given profiles of the wine and the same for each gemstone (i.e. size, origin, cut, treatments, and color). With each taste, the corresponding gemstone will be circulated so that every attendee can personally discover the stone.

We encourage questions and participation among the group. At the conclusion of the conversation, the most “valuable” pairing will be revealed.

As a finale, a phenomenal, collector-level gemstone or two will be presented. Below are examples for sapphire: purple, party, blue, and padparadscha.

There will be ample opportunity for guests to personally review the gemstones.
